What is Cancer Profile?
Cancer Profile is a blood test done to determine your tumor marker levels. Tumor markers are the chemicals produced by the tumor cells and can be detected in the blood.
Although this test can show signs of cancer, it is not enough to make a firm diagnosis of cancer as the tumor markers can also be produced by some other normal cells in the body. However, this test is still useful for periodic inspection as it will lead to the early detection and prevention of illness.
Cancer Profile is most helpful after a cancer diagnosis to determine whether the cancer is responding to treatment or whether it is growing.
